I AMsterdam

I AMsterdam

Amsterdam Amsterdam was one of the cities I was most looking forward to visiting in my European segment of my travels.  When I studied for a semester in London in Spring 2011, I missed out on visiting this iconic city, travelling to Barcelona, Madrid, Rome, Paris, Dublin, etc instead.  Many of my classmates did choose to visit this city during that time and they had great things to say about the city (in addition to partaking in recreational cannabis use) Luckily, I had a good friend to stay with and…

Keukenhof Gardens- “The most beautiful spring garden in the world”

Keukenhof Gardens- “The most beautiful spring garden in the world”

Keukenhof Gardens When I began planning my trip to the Netherlands, the second thing that came to mind (after Amsterdam, of course), was tulips.  From learning about the Dutch at school, I envisioned fields filled with brightly colored tulips with windmills scattered throughout the fields, with plenty of rivers nearby.  Dutch people would be walking through the fields in their clogs, carrying wheels of cheese. Spending Time in Salzburg, Austria

Spending Time in Salzburg, Austria

Salzburg, Austria While not originally in my plans, Salzburg was only a couple hours’ bus journey from Munich.  I had heard good things about it and decided it was a good opportunity to experience the Alps as well as another country! Once again, the weather during my time in Austria was divided into two categories-cold and rainy, and sunny and warm.  Luckily, I was able to do a lot of the indoor sightseeing during the crappy weather, so my plans weren’t hindered too much. Hohensalzburg Fortress Perched high up on…
